Peter Curtis RIP

It is with great sadness that we share the news that one of our clubs' founders, Peter Curtis has passed away.

Peter along with his wife Linda and friend Alan Dutch founded Headstone Manor Youth FC in 1993. It was Peter’s ambition to set up a club that would bring families in the local area together to provide football in the local community. From the formation of the club in 1993, to its height between 2005-2010, it expanded to have just over 30 teams including a girl's section which Peter personally looked after along with several other coaches and volunteers.

It was not about winning with Peter, but the participation and to ensure of that every child could be involved and had that opportunity to participate. An ethic that the club still has to this day.

He also believed in giving the players opportunities on and off the pitch in order to develop themselves and learn skills for life. This was evident from the numerous end of season tours and tournaments which he arranged for both the boys and girls teams.
There are so many wonderful stories and memories that his ex-players have as a result of their inclusion and involvement with his teams. He gave them opportunities that some had never dreamed of and enabled them to grow as individuals along the way.
Peter is already remembered at the club for what he created and we pass on our condolences to his wife Linda and sons John and Michael.
