Since moving up to group A at the beginning 0f 2008, we have seen that the competition we face is more determined and have a greater degree of technical ability than the teams we faced last year. To-day our boys played well and the score does not reflect the hard work they displayed on the pitch. As always all boys played extremely well and we have started seeing an improvement in the passing of the ball and other aspects of the game but I think that Joseph Moriarty in his first appearance in goal and George Philip deserve a special recognition for their special performance to-day. I am certain that without some of Joseph's saves the final score would have been quite different.

I want to add a final note about today's match overall; I am never one to criticise the opposition or the referee but to-day I saw some incidents on the pitch that I feel compelled to comment about. I saw one instance where one of our players was pushed from behind in full view of the referee and the referee did nothing; speaking to some dads after the match I know they share my view and were witness to other similar occurrences during the match. I must say I am extremely proud of our boys for their impeccable behaviour during matches and I know that even when we do not win we walk away with our heads held high.
